2025's "Freaky Tales" is a series of ficitonalized and darkly comedic stories set in Oakland in 1987, and it's full of music! Danger Zone is the hip hop duo of Entice and Barbie that goes toe to toe against Too $hort in a rap battle. While based on a real act, the version of Danger Zone in this movie is its own thing. We also get into some of the Bay Area punk rock scene with the film's portrayal of Operation Ivy and more.

Summer is coming to an end and we’re headed back to school!
“School of Rock” is a film that hardly needs an introduction – it’s a wholesome story of a hard rock burnout played by Jack Black who impersonates his way into a substitute teaching gig and ends up teaching his students how to rock out, with some life lessons for both the students and teacher along the way.But you already know all of that! We’ll be discussing the inspiration for the film, the writers of the tunes, and talking about the Broadway musical and Nickelodeon show as well.

We're back and it's a quadruple feature!
You might know this one best as the 2018 film starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper (who also directed), but "A Star is Born" has been born again and again since its first incarnation in 1937. Janet Gaynor originated the role of Esther Blodgett and, in 1954, Judy Garland made it the singing role we've come to know. We cover some of our favorites from Judy's version before moving on to the darker, edgier, sultrier 1976 film starring Barbra Streisand as the renamed Esther Hoffman. After some time with big ballads and outlaw country we get to the grand finale with Gaga's character, Ally and her big energetic pop tunes.

The "Macho Man" Randy Savage spent some time spittin' rhymes in the early 2000s and we're here to break down every single track on 2003's "Be a Man," an album centered around a diss track aimed at Hulk Hogan. This album swings bigger than Savage's baseball career and we're following all the threads to see who may have influenced (or been influenced by) Macho Man's rap opus. From Nelly to Ashanti and Snoop Dogg to Nate Dogg, it's a battle royale to find out which of Macho's tracks kicks the most butt!
